Best easy tips to clean inside microwave

What should you do when you are dealing with a really bad microwave, like really-really bad? First of all, you should not panic because luckily there are several proven ways of making it clean.
I. My favorite method of tackling the cleaning part can be done with the simple cooking ingredients that you may already have on hands.
What you need:
· Juice of half a lemon (bottled real lemon juice is also ok)
· 1 cup of water
· Any microwave-safe small dish (uncovered)
How to: Mix lemon juice with about one cup of water and place it in the microwave. Run it for about 5 to 10 minutes depending on how much grease build up you are dealing with. Once done, start wiping and if necessary use a sponge for tougher spots. The grease should be coming off pretty easy. If it doesn't, place the dish back and heat it up once again in 1-2 minutes intervals. I used this method in one of the dirtiest microwaves and this method worked very well.
II. Another method is to use a cleaning solution, particularly a degreaser that you can purchase in any grocery store or your local home improvement store.
What you need:
· Any generic brand degreaser (for many of our cleaning jobs we use Greased Lightning offered by Home Depot, but other brands should be ok too.)
How to: Spray the whole interior of the microwave and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes to soak in. Once the grease loosens up, remove the glass tray and start wiping. In a mean time, you can place the glass dish under running water for a minute or two. It may be necessary to use a scrubbing sponge in some areas. If dried up food and grease doesn't come off completely, reapply degreaser and scrub some more.
As cliché as this may sound, I find it easier to keep my microwave clean on daily bases. When the food spatters are fresh, they tend to come off fairly easy and do not take up a lot of time to clean. I personally made it a habit to clean up spills as soon as I remove food and notice that it needs to be wiped by using a moisten paper towel. Sometimes I also add a drop of dish-washing soap on a moistened paper tower as well. I usually do not like my towel or cleaning rag to feel wet, and this applies to all of our cleans. It should feel moist but water should not be dripping or running off your rag.
When spills get cleaned away, it takes under 30 seconds to complete. After doing this for so many years, I don’t even think about it, I just get it done. Of course, not being the only person who is using the microwave in our house, whenever I notice that someone else did not do their due diligence, I let my food heat up first, then wipe previous spills. This helps splatters to loosen up and they usually come right off. The key is not to let it go for days, which sometimes can turn a simple microwave cleaning and wiping into a dreadful task.
